"Kausani" is popular by the name of Valna, a Himalayan hilly town sited in Uttarakhand state. Is situated in Almora district, and located at an altitude of 6075 ft above the sea level. It is a much loved tourist destination for its natural beauty and scenic views of mighty Himalayas.Mahatma Gandhi, the national father of India, loved this place and called it the Switzerland of India. This increased the popularity of the spot manifolds. Those who visit Uttarakhand can't afford to miss a trip to Kausani. Itis also famous for several aspiring adventurers such as Trekking and mountain biking are the most favorite adventure activity here. Some of the trekking sites near the town are such as Pindari Glacier Trek, Milam Glacier Trek, Sunder Dhunga Trek and kafari which is 3 km to Kausani.

Pant Museum in Kausani: This is a huge attraction for those who love literature. It is the location where the beautiful Hindi poetess Sumitra Nandan Pant was born. This is a must visiting place for tourists. There is a gallery inside the museum which was established in remembrance of Pant. Every year Museum conducts the birth anniversary of Pant adding many poets to be kept her alive in the memories.

Lakshmi Ashram in Kausani: The Lakshmi Ashram is like an institution which provides assistance to the Kumaoni women to make them able to stand on their own and face any tougher situation in the life. Several types of work are taught by the ashram to the women like growing vegetables, cooking, caring for the animals, cleaning and so on. The main motive behind this help is to make women to live their life independently.

Someshwar temple in Kausani: It is one of the ancient temple located at the distance of about 12 kilometers away from Kausani. This temple was built by Raja Som Chand of the Chand Dynasty. It is surrounded by beautiful Someshwar valley. The temple is dedicated to lord Shiva or Mahesh, and named after the combination of founder and Maheshwar.

Kausani tea Estate in Kausani: Is located at a distance of 5 km from the main town. Most important industry nearby Kausani, it is spread over an area of 208 hectares in 21 divisions. Giria's Uttaranchal Tea is produced from this plantation. Located on the Bageshwar Road, at an elevation between 1,200 and 1,800 m above the sea level, the tea garden of Kausani is being developed as a tea-base for the entire state.

RudrahariMahadev Temple in Kausani: Is an ancient cave-temple, and is situated on the banks of river ‘Kosi’. According to a myth, it is believed that Rishi Kuashik meditated for a long time after that this temple was built. Due to its spiritual importance and devotional values, this place attracts a number of tourists along with devotees every year.

Anasakti Ashram in Kausani: Was built as homage to Mahatma Gandhi, who felt in love with Kausani and wrote his treatise Anasakti yoga. The ashram has reading room and library, a prayer room with photographs from Mahatma Gandhi’s life and small bookshop. It is one of the popular attraction of Kausani.

Rudradhari Falls and Caves in Kausani: Located on the Kausani- Almora road on the way to Someshwar, the place sits on a green terraced hillside covered with paddy fields and pine forest. Located 12 km away from the town, the falls impinging the valley flows as rivers and small springs. Legends relate the site with Lord Shiva (Rudra) and Lord Vishnu (Hari). Close to the waterfalls, the Shiva Temple at Someshwar is located.

By Air:- The nearest airport is Dehradun which is about 319 kilometers away from Kausani. It is well connected with all major cites of India.

By Road:- Kausani is well routed via road to most of the towns in Uttrakhand. Town is connected with State buses. Apart from this some private tour operators also operates buses from other cities of North India. You can reach Kausani by privet taxi as well from Delhi and other cities in India.

By Train:- The nearest railway station is Kathgodam which is located at 131 kilometers away from Kausani. You can reach there by privet taxi.
